[PHOTOS]Uhuru Makes Rare Public Appearance at a High-Profile Event in Nairobi With Former First Lady

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta made a rare public appearance on Friday evening as he attended the 2024/2025 Kenyatta Trust Graduation Dinner in Nairobi alongside former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta.

The event, which celebrated the achievements of 41 graduates from various institutions, was filled with joy, emotion, and reflection.

Uhuru, who serves as the patron of the Kenyatta Trust, delivered an inspiring speech urging the graduates to lead with integrity, justice, and peace.

He challenged them to go into the world with humility and courage, saying, “Lead always with peace in your hearts.”
Speaking under the theme “From Learners to Leaders,” the former Head of State reminded the scholars of their duty to uphold unity and compassion in nation-building.

He emphasized that the Trust’s mission is to create leaders who see themselves as Kenyans first, not defined by tribe or region.

Margaret Kenyatta, who accompanied him to the event, was warmly received by guests and parents of the graduates.

The night symbolized a continuation of the couple’s long-standing commitment to youth empowerment and education.
The event also saw Kenyatta Trust directors Nyokabi Kenyatta and Kirigo Ndegwa praise the organization’s impact, noting that over 68% of its graduates are now employed.

They credited this success to the Trust’s holistic approach to empowerment through initiatives like Janjaruka camps, Inuka economic programs, and Tuungane mentorship forums.
The evening closed with celebration and gratitude as the Kenyatta family joined students and guests in marking another milestone in the Trust’s mission to nurture future leaders.
