Machakos Governor Wavinya Ndeti has finally addressed the viral video showing an awkward encounter between her and Mama Ida Odinga during a recent public event. 

The short clip, which has been widely shared across social media platforms, captured a moment where Wavinya appeared to greet and embrace Mama Ida, only for the gesture to seemingly be brushed aside. 

The incident quickly sparked debate online, with many Kenyans speculating about possible tension or misunderstanding between the two prominent leaders.

However, Governor Wavinya’s latest statement has put the rumors to rest. Taking to her official social media pages, she shared a heartfelt message expressing deep respect and admiration for Mama Ida Odinga. 

In her post, Wavinya described Ida as a “true mentor and source of inspiration,” praising her for her strength, wisdom, and compassion, particularly during the ongoing period of mourning for her late husband, Raila Odinga.

“Mama Dr. Ida Odinga, you remain a true mentor and source of inspiration to many of us. Your strength, wisdom, and compassion have always guided those who look up to you. 

Even in this difficult time, your courage continues to shine through. Be encouraged, you are not alone — we shall continue walking this journey together with you,” wrote Governor Wavinya.

Her warm and empathetic message quickly went viral, earning her praise from Kenyans across the political divide. Many commended her maturity, humility, and emotional intelligence in handling what could have easily become a source of unnecessary controversy. 

Her statement not only dispelled the rumors of a feud but also reminded the public that moments caught on camera can often be misinterpreted.

Eyewitnesses have suggested that Mama Ida may not have intentionally ignored Wavinya, noting that she was in the middle of addressing mourners at the time and may have been emotionally overwhelmed.
