Njamba Tv through Simon Kibe has aired the story of a Kenyan young man who is in prison for a crime he believes he didn't commit.
His name is Samwel Mwangi and he was brought to prison by his aunt, where he was sentenced this year July to spend his life in prison.
According to him, he was having fights with the woman because she was insulting his grandmother which didn't go well with him. As a result of many fights the woman accused him of stealing neighbours goats and he was arrested. The owner of goats asked police to release him because he wasn't sure it was him.
Immediately after that the Aunt come up with another allegations that he had defiled her minor daughter. He was taken to court and found guilty which broke his heart. He claims that he didn't commit the crime, but he is in prison because of family issues.
He said the evidence brought in court was insufficient and he appealed his case one month ago. He went back to court and he is now waiting for the final judgement, which he believes will set him free.
He is therefore sending a message to those who take innocent people to prison, urging them to be human because prison is the hardest place to survive.
