Political commentator Morara Kebaso has shared strong opinions about the 2027 presidential race, warning that President William Ruto is almost guaranteed to win unless a united youth movement rises to challenge him.
Kebaso posted the remarks on his official X account, where he explained why he believes the opposition has little chance unless they reorganize in a completely new way.
Kebaso stated that Ruto can only be defeated by a combined youth force, and not by the current senior politicians who are trying to build their parties for personal advantage.
He argued that many opposition leaders are only focused on increasing the number of their Members of Parliament so that they can negotiate for positions after the election.
"William Ruto can only be defeated by a combined youth force. The rest of the politicians are just hoping to strengthen their parties to get enough members of parliament to use for negotiations after the election." Morara Kebaso said on his official X account.
He went ahead and alleged that the problem in the country’s political space is the lack of strong youth leadership that can offer clear direction to millions of young people who feel ignored and disconnected from traditional politics.
Kebaso said that unless key youth figures come together to form a united front, the situation will not change.
He further warned that without such unity, President Ruto will win the next election easily.
Kebaso said the opposition leaders will not lose anything because they will still be taken care of, claiming that their greed and personal interests are already well known to Kenyans.
"Unless key figures in the youth space decide to come together and offer leadership to the leaderless and a party to the partyless, we can continue watching helplessly. Bila hiyo, I assure you 100%, Ruto will win and no one in the opposition will loose anything.
They will be very well taken care of because their greed is known, they are not new." He stated.
Kebaso also dismissed the belief that the youth will automatically vote for the opposition.
According to him, young people are not excited by leaders who have been in government for many years but have little to show for it. He said that if the only choices are old leaders who have failed to deliver, many young people will simply refuse to vote.
"I know you think the youth will overwhelmingly vote for the opposition thus defeating Ruto. You are wrong.
The youth are not excited by people who have been in government for several years and done nothing. If those are the options, most youth will not vote." Kebaso added.
