"My Son I Love You" Ida Odinga Message To Her Son Junior Goes Viral As Akothee Vows To Take Harsh Action On Critics

Kenyan musician and entrepreneur Esther Akoth, popularly known as Akothee, has strongly condemned the recent wave of cyberbullying targeting Raila Odinga’s son, Raila Junior.

In an emotional post on her Facebook page, Akothee expressed outrage at the online mockery and insensitivity that has surrounded Junior’s name in recent days, describing it as a reflection of a generation “lacking empathy, discipline, and proper upbringing.”

“So this generation lacks what exactly? Sense, empathy, or proper upbringing?” she wrote. “You made us come out of mourning to mothering. Mama, forgive them as a mother. I will take this head-on because if we allow them, they will soon go on to attack even the disabled on the streets.

Akothee vowed to personally pursue justice for those responsible for the online harassment, saying such behaviour cannot be tolerated in a civilized society. “These children must face the law and learn to live normally in society. Leave this for me I am on it,” she declared.

In her message, she also extended words of love and encouragement to Raila Junior, assuring him of her support: “Junior, you are a hero. We love you. It’s okay not to be okay — it’s still very okay.”

Her post, which has since gone viral, has drawn thousands of reactions from fans and fellow Kenyans who praised her courage for speaking out. Many echoed her call for empathy and responsibility on social media platforms.

The hashtags #KenyansForKenya, #SayNoToCyberbullying, and #SayNoToBodyShaming have continued to trend as public figures and citizens alike rally behind Akothee’s message of compassion and justice.
