When Love Goes Sour: Puzzle as Young Lady Dies While Allegedly Fleeing Mzungu Lover At Night In Malindi

Police in Malindi, Kilifi County, are investigating the shocking death of a 27-year-old South Sudanese woman who died under mysterious circumstances after allegedly trying to escape from her mzungu lover.

The woman, identified as Regina Ayen, reportedly met her tragic end while attempting to climb over a gate to flee from a heated argument.

According to eyewitness reports, the gate had sharp metal spikes that pierced her thigh, leaving her trapped through the night.

Neighbors discovered her the following morning and quickly alerted the authorities.

She was rescued and rushed to the hospital, but doctors pronounced her dead upon arrival. Medical reports showed that she died from severe bleeding caused by deep wounds.

Speaking to journalists, Malindi Deputy Police Commander Daniel Chacha confirmed the incident, saying preliminary findings suggested it was an accident.

“The gate had very sharp spikes. She might have slipped while trying to jump over it. Unfortunately, the injuries led to too much bleeding,” he stated.

Ayen’s family, who live in Kenya, expressed deep pain over the loss of their daughter. Her cousin, David Rachur, thanked the police for acting swiftly and promised to cooperate fully with investigators.

“We just want the truth. We appreciate the efforts of the police and trust they will give us answers,” he said.

The family described Regina as a cheerful and hardworking woman who had moved to Malindi in search of better opportunities.

They believe there might be more to her death and are urging detectives to examine all possible angles, including what might have triggered the late-night escape.

Her body has been moved to the Malindi Sub-County Hospital mortuary for post-mortem as investigations continue.

The case has sparked mixed reactions online, with many Kenyans calling for justice and cautioning against toxic relationships. Some social media users demanded that authorities also question the mzungu lover to uncover what truly happened that night.

Police have not confirmed if any arrests have been made, but they have assured the public that the matter is being handled with seriousness.
