Rigathi Gachagua Writes to IG Kanja Amid Claims of Plans to Harm Him

Former Deputy President and Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP) leader, Rigathi Gachagua, has raised alarm over alleged threats to his safety ahead of his planned tour of Mbeere North Constituency in Embu County later this month.

In a strongly worded letter to Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja, Gachagua accused local leaders and police of turning a blind eye to an organized group that, he claims, has vowed to disrupt his political activities in the area.

The letter, dated Wednesday, November 12, 2025, was released to the media after a video circulated on social media showing several individuals making threats directed at the former DP and his supporters.

The men allegedly linked to a local county boss were heard promising to block Gachagua’s entry into Mbeere North and “teach him a lesson” if he dared to campaign there. TO READ MORE, TAP HERE.
