Speaking on Sunday, November 16, 2025, during a church service in Mbeere, Gachagua described Dorcus as a woman whose compassion, dedication to faith, and commitment to community service have strengthened both their marriage and their public service.
He said her influence has helped him stay grounded despite the noise in the political arena.
Gachagua told the congregation that Dorcus not only delivers powerful sermons in church but also shares the same messages with him at home.
With a smile, he joked that their deep affection for one another often attracts unnecessary comments from critics.
“Good service by Reverend Dorcus. The sermon she has given us here today is the same one she gives me every day.
You can see we love each other so much until people from Kasongo complain that we love each other too much,” he said.
“But the more they complain, the more we support and hold on to each other. I’m happy you have also heard her message about love.”
His remarks come at a time when some political leaders have accused Reverend Dorcus of having too much influence over him, claiming she is controlling the Democracy for Citizens (DCP) Party boss.
These critics argue that her growing public presence and active involvement in social causes reflect a deeper political role.
However, Gachagua dismissed such claims through his praise, choosing instead to highlight the positive role his wife plays in his life.
