Gachagua Faces Fresh Criticism as Senator Cherargei Claims Panic in Mt. Kenya Politics

  

Senator Samson Cherargei has launched a sharp attack on former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, accusing him of panicking ahead of the 2027 elections despite earlier assuring the nation that the Mt. Kenya voting bloc was firmly under his control.

Cherargei’s remarks come at a time when political temperatures in the region continue to rise, with leaders trading statements as they seek to shape early narratives.

Speaking during a public event, Cherargei said Gachagua has no authority to threaten anyone because, in his view, the deputy president is already showing signs of fear.
