Sudden U-turn as Raila's Closest Ally, Junet Mohamed Slams President Ruto's Government; Kenyans React

The National Assembly Minority Leader and Suna East Constituency Member of Parliament Junet Mohamed has taken on President William Ruto's government over the failure to disburse school capitation money on time.

Speaking on the floor of parliament, the Orange Democratic Movement legislator faulted the Kenya Kwanza government for what he termed as failing its part of the bargain.

According to him, parliament has always performed its duty of allocating money required to fund education during budget making but when it comes to implementation of the budget, the executive staggers.

He observed that the government has always issued an execuse of taking data of all the schools and students for the delays that have threatened to cripple in learning institutions across the country.

This comes at a time when schools have been forced to close on Friday 17, one week earlier than the planned date because of lack of capitation.

According to Junet, the government is taking the Members of Parliament for granted. He called on the MPs to take further action if the Ministry of Education does not act.
