President William Ruto has continued to battle rejection, with a section of the KANU party leadership now coming out to publicly reject him.
This, interestingly, comes only days after his pact with the party's National Chairman, Gideon Moi, who even dropped his Baringo Senatorial bid after meeting Ruto in State House.
A section of the party's youth leadership has raised doubts about Ruto's leadership credentials, insisting that everything has been wrong under his rule, as reported by The Star.
They have stated that they will not associate with a government that only focuses on disregard for the constitution, corruption and human rights violations like abductions and enforced disappearances.
“Our values as the youth and as a party are founded on accountability, transparency, respect for human rights, and promotion of the rule of law,” reads the statement signed by Kanu Youth Congress vice chairperson Kimani Mbugua, Vice Treasurer Isaac Mwashinga and Vice Secretary Atemo Mwangu Lucy.
They have stressed the need for change in 2027, urging the youth to take advantage of the ongoing voter registration drive and put in place a better government.
