Insider Reveals Uhuru Instruction to Matiangi As He Moves to Bring Back Raila & Azimio Ahead of 2027

Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is reportedly considering backing former Interior Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiang'i for the 2027 presidential elections.

According to sources from Taifa Leo, Kenyatta is actively working to position Matiang'i as a strong contender against President William Ruto’s bid for a second term.

The support is believed to stem from Matiang'i’s rising popularity, especially among the youth.

Last year, many young Kenyans, particularly from Generation Z, who have been critical of Ruto’s administration, expressed admiration for Matiang'i, hinting at their support for his potential candidacy.

Matiang'i has been meeting with political leaders across the country as part of his presidential campaign preparations. His primary focus has been to consolidate support from his Gusii community, with plans to expand his outreach to other regions.

Recently, Matiang'i held a meeting with Gusii leaders at the Fairmont Hotel in Karen, Nairobi, which was attended by prominent figures, including Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka and nine MPs from Kisii and Nyamira counties. The gathering emphasized Matiang'i's growing influence in the region.

Additionally, Matiang'i is consulting with political strategists to refine his campaign strategy. An MP who attended the Karen meeting shared that Kenyatta has pledged his support to Matiang'i but has advised him to first secure backing within the Gusii community.

Kenyatta is also working to unite opposition figures, including ODM leader Raila Odinga, to back Matiang'i in the upcoming elections. "Serious plans are underway. Uhuru is trying to bring opposition leaders together to support Matiang’i.

He is the one orchestrating all these efforts," the anonymous MP revealed. This strategy could reshape the political landscape ahead of the 2027 elections.
