BE WARNED: Kenyans Warned Against Electing The Following Opposition Leaders with Questionable Records

Renowned lawyer Cliff Ombeta has cautioned Kenyans against blindly electing opposition figures he says carry political baggage that could harm the country’s leadership future.

Speaking on Saturday, October 12, Ombeta argued that Kenya risks recycling failed politicians under the illusion of change.

He questioned whether the so-called “dynasties” that Kenyans rejected in past elections ever truly disappeared.

Ombeta said some leaders now presenting themselves as reformers have long histories of poor governance, corruption, and self-interest.

The lawyer singled out key opposition figures, warning that their presidential ambitions should not be mistaken for genuine transformation.

He cited Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka, questioning whether his track record demonstrates the leadership qualities Kenya needs.

Ombeta also dismissed the idea that former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua, should he seek the presidency, could suddenly transform into a better leader.

He described Gachagua as an old-school administrator still tied to outdated methods of governance.

He further raised concerns about National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi, questioning if his leadership record reflects the integrity and dynamism the country requires.

Ombeta added that even seasoned politician Martha Karua must be evaluated beyond reputation, insisting that Kenyans should focus on results, not rhetoric.

According to him, the opposition must present credible, visionary leaders who can inspire confidence rather than recycle familiar names. He said Kenyans deserve a new generation of leaders untainted by political debts or ethnic loyalties.

Ombeta concluded by urging voters to think critically before embracing politicians seeking to capitalize on discontent with the current administration.

He warned that without discernment, Kenya could easily fall back into the same cycle of disappointment and poor leadership.
