With about 2 year to the 2027 General Election, Jubilee Party is preparing for a political comeback with an aim to capture power for another.
According to NTV report, the party is scheduled to hold a National Delegate Conference on Friday this week in Nairobi.
Insiders reveals that the main agenda is to identify the Jubilee Presidential Candidate with Former CS Fred Matiang'i' likely to assume the post.
Former President Uhuru Kenyatta is alleged to be planning to handover the party leadership should be appointed as their flag bearer.
The upcoming gathering has exposed cracks in the United Opposition after Wiper boss Kalonzo Musyoka said he won't attend the meeting.
Kalonzo's refusals to join Jubilee for the NDC is a tactic to extend his good relation with DCP party leader Rigathi Gachagua.
His move however casts fresh doubt on the opposition’s unity.
In the same presser, Kalonzo also declined an invitation by ODM leader Raila Odinga, who had requested him to attend the founder members’ party slated for October 10.
Citing his long political friendship with Odinga, the 2027 presidential aspirant seemingly expressed regret for backing the former premier’s political ambitions for far too long, saying he would not attend the event.
