Nakuru Governor Susan Kihika is leading the race to retain her seat in the 2027 General Election, according to a new opinion poll by Mizani Africa.

The survey, conducted across all 11 constituencies in Nakuru County, placed Kihika at 52.8% among respondents asked who they would vote for if elections were held today.

Former Nakuru Governor Lee Kinyanjui emerged second with 29.8%, trailing Kihika by 23 percentage points. Businesswoman and Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja followed with 2.7%, while Ibrahim Karanja received 1.2%.

Other candidates, including Geoffrey Mwangi, Joel Kairu and Evans Kimori, polled below 1%. Meanwhile, 11.5% of respondents remained undecided.

Mizani Africa interviewed 1,640 registered voters between July 6 and 18, 2026, using mobile telephone interviews.

The survey sampled voters from a register of about 1.05 million people and was conducted at a 95% confidence level, with a margin of error of ±2.4 percentage points.

The findings offer an early indication of voter preferences ahead of the 2027 gubernatorial contest.
