ODM Leader Oburu Oginga Sends Tough Warning to Those Trying to Split the Party

The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) leader, Dr. Oburu Oginga, has sent a firm message to individuals attempting to divide the party as the country moves toward the 2027 General Election.

Speaking during a gathering in Migori, Dr. Oburu made it clear that ODM remains strong, united, and fully focused on preparing for the next political season.

Dr. Oburu dismissed any efforts from within or outside the party aimed at weakening its structure.

He said that ODM has endured many political storms and will not be shaken by those dreaming of creating rifts. According to him, the party’s unity is not up for negotiation.

He stated firmly, “Those imagining they can break ODM it will never happen. In my hands, ODM will not be divided.”

His remarks targeted individuals who have been engaging in political manoeuvres or forming factions that appear to undermine the party leadership.

Migori Governor Ochilo Ayacko echoed the same concerns, noting that some leaders are more interested in fighting for positions rather than building the party.

He warned that internal fights could push away allies who have stood with ODM over the years.

“People are busy fighting for seats rather than uniting ODM. Some are even chasing away our friends,” Governor Ayacko said.

Dr. Oburu also clarified why ODM chose to work with the broad-based government.

He explained that the decision was not driven by personal ambitions but by the desire to support the communities that have always stood with ODM.

He highlighted that the partnership was meant to improve development, especially in the Nyanza region, where the party enjoys deep roots.
