Former Roots Party running mate Justina Wamae has called on Mbeere North residents to focus on candidates’ leadership abilities rather than their comedic appeal ahead of the November 27 by-election.
Wamae highlighted that while humour may attract attention, it does not equate to effective governance.
In a post on X, she pointed to Newton Kariuki, popularly known as Karis, whose humorous phrases like “Muthende mwi” have gained him popularity.
Wamae cautioned that voters should not let entertainment overshadow the candidate’s record in public service, questioning Kariuki’s performance as a sitting MCA.
