Sky, the daughter of the late gospel singer Betty Bayo, gave a deeply emotional tribute as she remembered the final days she spent with her mother.
Speaking softly but bravely, she described the pain, confusion, and heartbreak she experienced as she watched her mother grow weaker each day.
Sky shared that her mother’s illness began gradually before it became severe, forcing her to seek treatment at a small hospital near their home. From that point, everything changed for the family.
She explained that the situation became too painful to put into words, but what she remembers most is how her mother tried to smile despite being in great pain.
She recalled one of the most difficult moments—seeing her mother at AAR Hospital with tubes all around her mouth and nose.
She was only allowed to see her for two minutes because there were many other people around.
Determined to speak to her privately, Sky forced her way into the ambulance so she could have a moment alone.
Even though her mother could not respond, tears rolled down her cheeks as Sky spoke to her.
Sky told her mother how much they missed her at home, and how strange and sad it felt to return to the house and not find her sitting in her favourite spot. This new emptiness weighed heavily on her.
She added that when her mother died, she was told that her mum had planned to take her somewhere that day, only for her to later learn that she had passed away.
She described how hard it was seeing her mother unable to move or talk, yet still trying to communicate.
The image of her mother fighting for her life, surrounded by tubes, is something she says will never leave her.
But despite the heartbreak, Sky promised to stay strong for her younger brother, Danny.
