President William Ruto’s development tour of Ukambani took an unexpected turn on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, after a dramatic exchange between him and a local Makueni Member of County Assembly (MCA) who appeared to issue directives to the Head of State during a public rally.

The president, who is on a multi-day working visit to the Eastern region, was addressing residents of Makueni County when the MCA took the microphone to remind him of unfulfilled promises made before the 2022 elections.
