A daring early-morning robbery at a private hospital in Kitui Town has left police searching for six armed men who stormed the facility dressed in jungle military uniforms.
According to authorities, the gang gained entry through the hospital’s main gate, where they subdued the security guard and a cleaner. The two were tied up before the attackers seized all keys from the reception desk, enabling them to access multiple departments.
The robbers ransacked both the ground and first floors, targeting key operational areas. They broke into the cashier’s room, pharmacy, and administrator’s office, stealing five mobile phones, one laptop, four bio scanners, two laptop chargers, and a laptop bag.
Police believe the gang had prior knowledge of the hospital’s layout and operations, suggesting possible insider involvement.
Efforts to track down the culprits are ongoing, and detectives are urging anyone with information to come forward.
Hospital staff expressed concern over the security breach and stressed the need for tighter measures to protect employees and patients.
The incident adds to rising security concerns in the area, prompting residents and businesses to reassess their safety protocols.
