KANU Chair Gideon Moi's move to withdraw from Baringo senate by-election has left his party supporters disappointed.
These changes occurred just a day after Moi made a surprise visit to State House, Nairobi, where he met President Ruto alongside KANU Secretary General George Wainaina and former Baringo Woman Representative, Gladwel Cheruiyot.
Some KANU leaders, who on Wednesday claimed that Moi had rejected the President’s demand to withdraw in favor of Chemitei, said yesterday that they were disappointed by his decision.
They said Moi had switched off his phone and had used the loyalty and support of KANU members for his personal gain.
Samburu West MP Naisula Lesuuda faulted KANU party leader Moi for keeping supporters in the dark about his sudden withdrawal from the Baringo senatorial race.
Lesuuda urged the independence party's leader to take the prudent step and address his supporters and reconnect with them.
