Saboti Member of Parliament Caleb Amisi has made a bold declaration regarding the political future of Embakasi East MP, Babu Owino, particularly his ambitions for the Nairobi governorship.
Speaking during an interview on the Obinna Show Live, Amisi stated that Owino has only two viable political pathways to secure the county's top job, effectively ruling out any possibility of a successful independent run.
Caleb Amisi confidently laid out the limited options, explaining, "If he is to vie for Nairobi governor, in my view, he can only belong to either two camps."
He was unequivocal in naming the two political vehicles he believes are necessary for victory.
"Either he is an ODM candidate... or a DCP candidate," Amisi declared. While the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) is Babu Owino's current party, the mention of the mysterious "DCP" has sparked considerable debate among political followers.
The Saboti legislator was incredibly firm in his political analysis, insisting that these were the only realistic choices available to the popular Embakasi East lawmaker.
He completely dismissed the idea of an independent candidacy, a route often taken by popular politicians, describing it as "tricky."
Amisi reasoned that the Nairobi election will be driven by party loyalty, predicting an "emotional voting" pattern where the electorate will rally behind major political formations over individual candidates.
Caleb Amisi, however, was full of praise for Babu Owino's political journey and work ethic.
He acknowledged his colleague's impressive rise in the political arena, describing him as someone who has grown "from nothing to where he is now" and possesses "a great potential."
Amisi added that it would be a great loss for the country to lose a politician like Babu, calling him a valuable asset to the nation who should be nurtured.
The MP concluded his assessment with a word of caution and advice for his fellow politician.
He urged Babu Owino to carefully "manage" his significant political capital and potential so that it "does not escape him."
According to Amisi, the path to the governor's seat is narrow, but with clever navigation and the correct party choice, Babu Owino has what it takes to clinch the highly coveted position.
