IEBC has reminded Kenyans that the country is now just 365 days away from the 2027 General Election.
In a message shared on Monday, August 10, the electoral agency marked the one-year countdown to the polls while encouraging eligible Kenyans who have not registered as voters to do so early.
The IEBC used the occasion to urge citizens to prepare ahead of the election, with the message “Jipange Mapema” accompanying the voter registration reminder.
According to the commission, Kenyans can register as voters at IEBC constituency offices located across the country. Eligible citizens can also access registration services at Huduma Centres near them.
For those in Nairobi, the IEBC said voter registration services are available at its Customer Experience Centre at Anniversary Towers.
The reminder comes as political activities gradually gain momentum ahead of the 2027 elections, which are expected to attract candidates and parties seeking positions at both national and county levels.
The commission’s countdown also serves as an early call to voters to confirm their eligibility and take the necessary steps before election preparations enter their final stages.
Voter registration remains an important part of the electoral process, as it enables eligible citizens to participate in choosing their preferred leaders.
The IEBC is expected to continue issuing updates on registration, electoral preparedness and other activities as the country moves closer to the polls.
With one year remaining, the commission’s message places emphasis on early preparation rather than waiting until the final stages of the electoral cycle.
