My Husband and I Fought Over Money Every Month, Until One Unexpected Change Brought Peace Back Home

There was a time when every end of the month felt like a battlefield in our home. My husband and I would argue about bills, groceries, and even small things like electricity tokens.

We weren’t poor, but somehow, our money never seemed to last. I dreaded paydays because, instead of peace, they always ended with tension, blame, and silence.

The arguments became routine I’d accuse him of wasting money on unnecessary things, and he’d say I didn’t understand how hard it was to earn.

We started sleeping on separate sides of the bed, barely talking unless it was about expenses. Our children even started noticing the tension. Deep down, I knew we still loved each other, but the constant fights over money were slowly destroying that love.

One night, after yet another heated argument about school fees, I broke down. I remember saying, “We used to be happy, now all we do is fight.” He looked at me and said something that stayed in my heart “It’s like we’re cursed when it comes to money.”

I couldn’t agree more. Every time we planned to save, something unexpected happened a sickness, a broken fridge, or a sudden debt. It felt as if money just disappeared from our hands.

I began to wonder if it was bad luck following us. I tried budgeting, cutting costs, even opening a savings account but still, nothing changed. The frustration became unbearable.TO READ MORE, TAP HERE.
