Former Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana has sparked debate after urging the Kamba community to unite politically if they hope to unseat President William Ruto in the 2027 general elections.
According to a video clip circulating online, in which Kibwana was addressing a community gathering, Kibwana cautioned that relying solely on Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka would not be enough to challenge Ruto’s political strength.
“Huyu Ruto si mtu hivi hivi, si mtu wa kutoa urais kwa kirahisi,” said Kibwana, emphasizing that defeating Ruto would require strategy, unity, and alliances beyond one region or leader.
His sentiments have since ignited political discussions across the Ukambani region and beyond.
