Sifuna, Babu Owino, and Amisi Warned of Consequences If They Defy Raila on Broad-Based Government Plan

A lecturer at the University of Nairobi and a renowned political analyst, Professor Herman Manyora, has issued a stern warning to some of the younger leaders within the ODM party, urging them to refrain from attacking the party leader.

Prof. Manyora, a known supporter of former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, specifically cautioned Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna, Embakasi East MP Babu Owino, and Saboti MP Caleb Amisi against taking positions that appear to oppose their party leader, Raila Odinga.

Speaking through his political analysis broadcast on his YouTube channel on Sunday, October 12, 2025, Prof. Manyora warned the leaders to avoid actions that may be perceived as disrespectful to Hon. Raila Amollo Odinga, actions he said could have serious political consequences.

“It is important for these leaders to be very careful. I’ve already said that Caleb Amisi, Babu Owino, and Edwin Sifuna must exercise caution. You can criticize Mudavadi or Wetang’ula, but when it comes to Raila, you must be extremely careful. Attacking Raila directly puts your political future at risk,” said Manyora.

He further emphasized the importance of ODM leaders showing respect for the party’s leadership and avoiding public displays of dissent against Mr. Odinga.
