Taifa Leo has established that there is a possible mass defections from Kenya Kwanza administration, especially UDA a head of 2027 elections.
This comes in the wake of North Mugirango MP Joash Nyamoko has Kakamega senator Dr. Boni Khalwale, one of UDA’s founding members, said the party is “dead” in the Western region.
“I founded UDA in Kakamega and other parts of Western Kenya, and right now, I cannot say that the party still exists,” he said.
On whether he would run under UDA in 2027, he added he would first complete his “social contract” with the people and make a decision based on the political climate in 2027.
“Even President Ruto himself is not certain whether he’ll use the UDA ticket. Since the 2010 Constitution came into effect, no sitting president has ever sought re-election using the same party they used for their first term,” he noted.
Embu Governor Cecily Mbarire, who is also the acting UDA chairperson, on June 1, 2025, decried what she termed as sabotage by certain government officials aiming to weaken her politically, remarks widely interpreted as targeting Deputy President Kithure Kindiki.
Ndindi Nyoro, who was removed as chair of the National Assembly Budget Committee, issued a scathing statement on July 10, 2025, calling the government “directionless.”
“A government that kills people without remorse, issuing ‘shoot to kill’ orders, is dangerous. The state is heavily funding intelligence agencies but failing to protect the lives and property of its citizens.”
MP Edward Muriu for Gatanga, claimed that some individuals close to President Ruto are plotting to use other smaller Mt. Kenya-based parties for the 2027 race, but warned that they would expose such leaders:
“Any party not affiliated with DCP will be seen as a wheelbarrow painted a different color.”
